The Calypso Rose Musical
In 2023, Stacey made her acting debut in theatre at the Hart House Theatre in Toronto, Canada, where she played the role of Calypso Rose to a sold-out audience. The original musical was directed and written by Rhoma Spencer, a noted thespian herself. The show was mounted later that year on the sister island of Tobago as part of Tobago Carnival celebrations, and in 2024 returned to Trinidad for a multi-night run at the Central Bank Auditorium.
Stacey received extremely positive reviews from Trinidad's two largest newspapers for her portrayal of Linda McCartha Monica Sandy-Lewis (Calypso Rose), with critics praising her vocal embodiment of the legendary calypsonian and her work as an actor.
"Stacey Sobers is a revelation as an actor. Already known as a singer and calypsonian — 2018 NWAC National Calypso Queen and NCC Calypso Monarch finalist — she embodies Rose's Tobago accent and stutter, and her body language effectively."

Yes Productions' musical did well in choosing Sobers, the 2018 calypso queen, for the role. It was the calypsonian's vocal prowess, onstage comfort, and showmanship that made her portrayal of Linda McCartha Monica Sandy-Lewis believable."
